Overview
CHS offers a pioneering educational approach that fosters interdisciplinary learning by breaking down traditional academic silos and emphasizing the integration between disciplines. With access to specialized facilities and courses offered across both FASS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and FOS Faculty of Science, students are provided with freedom and flexibility to explore diverse subjects and craft their own educational pathway.
Common Curriculum
The CHS Common Curriculum is structured around 13 core courses, constituting one-third of the total curriculum. It's designed to impart foundational skills essential for broad intellectual development. For more detls on this component, please refer to our CHS Common CurriculumCommon20Curriculum page.
Multiple Pathways to Graduation
Guided by their interests and career aspirations, students can design individualized academic paths through a variety of major and minor combinations. This allows them to tlor the degree program towards being either highly specialized or broadly based on their educational preferences.
Cross-Disciplinary Programmes
CHS also provides opportunities for double degree programs in collaboration with other faculties such as College of Design and Engineering CDE. The Common Curriculum courses from CHS are seamlessly mapped to CDE curriculum, offering students a unique bl of academic disciplines.
Regardless of the chosen graduation pathway, our students have the option to choose between being versatile thinkers who can adapt across various fields, integrators who combine knowledge from multiple domns, or deep specialists in their chosen areas.
